The type of food available can vary greatly from place to place. Sometimes it can be healthy fresh food. Other times it can be fast food- or a combination of both. It can be difficult to eat healthy. Trying to get young children to eat a healthier option can be especially stresful. Some people find it hard to access food due to transport difficulties, low income or physical ailments.

Port Macquare and similar country places have started using more avaiable local produce and delivery to home can be arranged. Local keeps it fresher and cheaper. Fruit, vegetables, eggs, bakers & similar can be utilised and bring community together to save together can get healthy together

I find it very sad when I take my children out to a cafe, resturant etc that the Childrens Menu consists of ONLY fried & processed foods eg. fish & Chips, chicken nuggets, pizza etc. How hard would it be to offer kids something fun & healthy. A bowl of steamed vegies couldn't be difficult.

Spaghetti bolognaise is always a favourite with kids, and that's quite a healthy option. Once penne napolitana (penne with a tomato based sauce) was offered - and the kids loved it.
It's not that hard to offer something that's nutritious, tasty and that the kids will eat. We need to be more vocal in restaurants/ cafes where the only options are fried and processed rubbish.
